Clothes Swap

oh hell yeah.

From the Big Red Sun website:

SWAP is an all-female, city-wide opportunity for Austin gals to trade their clothes, shoes, handbags, and accessories for a wonderful cause, SafePlace. Have you ever coveted your sister’s Jimmie Choos? Have you ever secretly eyed your best friend’s closet and wish it could be yours? Have you ever scoped out a total stranger’s Hermes bag with eyes of envy? Well, here is your chance to look through everyone’s closet in Austin!

How does it work? Just bring your bag of gently used, last season’s, can’t-fit-into, too small, too large, wrong color clothes and weigh in. A fee of $5.00 per pound will be charged, and you are able to leave with the same poundage of clothes, shoes, and handbags that you walked in with. Obviously, longer you hang out, the more selection you will have. Music will be provided by Kacy Crowley. Beer, wine, and light fare will be available from CafĂ© Mundi. 100% of profits after operating expenses will go to SafePlace, as well as any clothing that may be left over.
