So, here's a question for you. I've asked several people this already and no one is able to give me a satisfactory answer*.

Technically, is it "fried" if the food in the act of cooking itself naturally produces oil output? Like: bacon. You can't cook bacon without it frying itself even though you're not purposely dipping it in grease. Well, I guess maybe you could if you microwaved it with one of those bizarro tilted bacon plates with the lard trap at the bottom, but don't you think that always makes it taste funny? So, is bacon actually technically a fried food? Hep me!

oh, and that leads me to our French for the day:

Cochons n'aime pas le bacon.

(Pigs, they don't like bacon).

*in case you're wondering, a satisfactory answer would be: NO! It's not frying! And furthermore, bacon makes you skinny.

It depends on the diet you're on...are you counting fat and calories? or carbs?...if you're doing a low carb high protein diet...vive la bacon

Nice try, Stinky. But you could always call it "rendering" instead.

Funny you would mention it though. On the first, I ate "chicken-fried bacon" -- battered, fried in at least an inch of fat. Now that was some good eatin.

oh, I'm trying not to count anything really--just sticking with whole grains and non-fried foods.
