Civic Duty

Ah, October, so many things, so little time. The two I am signed up for are:
1. Dogtoberfest which is different than the dogtoberfest at Gingerman last weekend. That was Blue Dog (a fine rescue group). This one is FOUR rescue groups taking over the Domain, including us.It's October 25th from 11am to 5pm. There's going to be a pet costume contest, pet photographer on site, demos from the K-9 police unit, animal cpr demos, grooming demos and from what I hear, an awesome silent auction. (I probably shouldn't share the things up for auction this early, but trust me, good stuff!). I'll be there in the morning so come by and say hi if you're out and about. I may bring Fergus in his pirate costume...if he doesn't eat it in the car on the way there.

2. Thrill the World

In 2007, 1722 people in 52 cities on 5 continents danced to "Thriller" at exactly the same time, breaking world records, This year on October 25th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Austin is going to attempt to do it again...

Don't know the Thriller Dance? Well, there are several Zombie Dance Workshops around town to attend between now and then so you can learn! I haven't been to one yet, but I'm going to try and get to one this weekend so I can participate. Oooh! I wonder if they'll count me and the Nugget as TWO???
