Ix-nay on Iscovery-Day
You know how they have those parental control chips in televisions these days so you can prevent your child from knowing there's such a thing as Cinemax or Showtime "After Hours"?? I'm of the mind that they need to add something similar to keep pregnant women from ever stumbling across the Discovery Health Channel. According to what I saw this weekend, I think about 10 hours a day on that channel are devoted to shows about people having REALLY BAD birthing experiences or just regular birthing experiences that seem REAAALLLY long and folks, this is not something my psyche can handle. I'm still halfway under the impression that I can have this kid without even being present (or conscious). This is not a bubble that I am ready to have burst just yet. Humor me for a little while longer.

Good news: labor isn't as bad as you think. Really! And the drugs will flow freely if you ask for them. No problem! It's just like a party, except one where you can't walk right for a week afterward and you get sent home with a little screaming creature instead of a hangover!
You should probably avoid "Freebirthing" then. I haven't made it for more than 3 minutes yet.
gah! just the word "freebirthing" made me start sweating.
I sound out the second time if you say your hurting with the epidural they can still give you stadol. My suggestion, get the epidural before you even get your IV.
I love birth shows and can't watch this one. Let's just say it's not a show about the COST of birth.
