Last Day of the Year

So was it good for you? 2008, I mean, get your mind out of the gutter.

I think 2008 was probably one of the biggest roller coaster years I've had. There were some really great things--France! and More France! and deciding to try to have a kid and being pretty much immediately successful at that part--something which was not guaranteed, considering I am of "advanced maternal age" --world's most annoying phrase, by the way--why don't they just say YER EGGS ARE OLD, huh? think I can't take it? Oh, I can take it, lady, I'm married to Sam. (sorry, tangent) Where was I? Good things, right: there were fun visits home, graduations, weddings, puppies, new president!--lots of good stuff. But there were some low moments, too--losing Sam's grandfather, my sister going through a not very nice divorce, other losses and low points for people very dear to me, it just sort of makes the anticipation for 2009 all the more hopeful.

SO many things I'm looking forward to in 2009. Of course, obviously is arrival of the Nugget. We are getting somewhere near the vicinity of being close to some form of "ready" for that. I mean, don't actually ask me in person if I am ready because you may not get the reaction you were looking for (sobs, deer in headlights), but we're getting there.

I don't have any resolutions this year other than just getting through that whole adventure. Oh and I'm going to try to stop using plastic shopping bags. Just those two things. What about you?

My resolution is to use only one paper towel to dry my hands in the bathroom at work instead of two. Last year I went from three to two successfully. :)

I toyed with the idea of a potty training resolution, but really, that should be Saul's resolution, not mine, right? I'm not the one crapping in my pants.
