FOLLOW THE LIGHT

So, yeah, Nugget is in breech position we found out this morning. In short, that means that if we don't find some way to turn him around (or he does it on his own) some time in the next two weeks, we will have to schedule a c-section. So, we're looking into some alternative options that might make this happen. My friend Shannon sent me these, one midwife's collection of breech turning techniques. And I will tell you one thing, if nothing else, maybe my laughing for the last hour and a half will help him turn. But I am especially eager to see Sam try these two:

Shine a very bright light low down on her uterus, or even between her legs
Have someone (preferrably the father) talk loudly but soothingly to the baby, low on the belly, close to the skin, telling the baby to turn around, to come towards the voice..

can you see it now?
COME TO THE LIGHT, MY SON, FOLLOW THE LIGHT.

hey, it's worth a shot, right?

I'd pay to see this, just so you know.

BIG MONEY

Hmmm...I'd recommend acupuncture if it doesn't weird you out. Or you can do the points yourself (on the pinky toes of your feet, to the right of the toenail--press HARD).

According to one of my moderately non-new-agey birth books, it's more likely that he will stay breech at this point.

yeah, actually acupuncture is one of the things we're going to try. But they don't give you very high hopes being 38 weeks along with your first--apparently it's a bit more successful if you catch it before 37 weeks. But we're going to see what we can do and roll with it.

I really think you should try the suggestion about putting a transistor radio in your pants. Just so we can hear about your co-workers' reactions.
