Sad news: exactly a year to the date of losing our beloved Flo, we have lost Micah. Actually, that sounds stupid. We didn't lose her, we know exactly where she is, she's just not with us anymore. Ok, also sounding not right... How about:

Micah is eating that great drywall in the sky...

She is now communing with the aliens on a MUCH closer wavelength...

She went to "go live on a ranch where she can run and play"

Much like Elvis, Micah has LEFT THE BUILDING.

I know. Right about now you are thinking that I am a horrible, heartless person. Let me tell you something, Micah was FIFTEEN years old. It is not like she's checking out early. it's been a few days in coming, so I've had some time to adjust to the idea...though I must say: it doesn't exactly suck any less. MIcah and I had a much different relationship than I had with either Georgia or Flo. I adopted her when she was nine, after she spent most of her life crated and used for breeding. To be honest, I fostered her at first because she looked so much like Georgia, I couldn't NOT foster her. It was only later I found out that they were related, from the same breeding farm. I took Micah in thinking that because I'd saved her, she'd cling to me and stare lovingly at me with grateful eyes. She ignored me for the better part of four years. She liked me ok, but we were never cuddle buddies. Micah never cuddled with anything that didn't smell like bacon. Despite being one of the cutest dogs I've ever met, Micah had a pretty surly disposition, unless she smelled food and then her tail would start vibrating. She wasn't much for other dogs, HATED puppies (go figure) and just barely tolerated the rest of us, preferring rather to spend hours, upon hours literally barking at the grass. It was only in the last couple of years as her eyesight started going down hill that she decided I could operate as her "seeing eye" person--a method that consisted of her walking either on or two inches from my feet every where I went,so that a good portion of time I spent tripping over her, sometimes resulting in injury. In addition to the eating of drywall, we've also weathered many other charming episodes including that rainy summer when she discovered the squishy goodness of earthworms and dug so many holes in the backyard to get at them, it looked like we were invaded by a horde of rabid groundhogs. In short, Micah, my little friend, you were a total pain in the ass. But we loved you. And we'll miss you and your little hummingbird tail. You were sweet in your own little slightly brain-damaged way. Godspeed, little girl. Now get some rest.

so she was the puppy version of Walter Mathau?

she sounds absolutely awful and awesome at the same time. I'm sorry she's gone.

Micah was the first of your dogs that I said, "Aww, how cute!" about. I love that picture. How bizarre that it was exactly one year after Flo.

:(

Yeah, she was a lot like Walter Mathau now that you mention it. Maybe a combo of Mathau and Rainman. But CUTE.

thanks guys--it was not a surprise--I knew it was coming, so in that way, it's better than what happened with Flo. But losing a pet 3 days before christmas for the second year in a row? sucks.

poor Micah, but honestly after seeing her earlier this year, she needed to go. I forgot how cute she was until you posted those pics. I didn't know it was the same day Flo went too. Bummer. So hey, what's Mr. Bean up to?
