R.O.A.D.I.E.S. Event

Putting a plug in for this. I'm hoping to go by after the (shudder) garage sale:

"Saturday, April 22nd
Jo's Coffee House (1300 S. Congress St.)
1pm-5pm

There will be music by Noelle Hampton, Mike Rosenthal, Matt the Electrician, Abra Moore and the Mother Truckers. We have over $800 in merchant gift certificates to give away. And it's all for the doggies!

As many of you have heard, in January our friend Mike's 7 month old dachshund/chihuahua mix, Pedro, was mauled by a pit bull at the Riverside dog park. The owner of the pit bull took off, leaving Mike with over $2500 in medical bills for Pedro. Our suggestion to hold a fundraiser for him has blossomed into an incredible event. (By the way, Pedro is doing splendidly and is planning on attending our event!)

Our group is called r.o.a.d.ies (responsible owners of austin doggies) and proceeds from this fundraiser will go to Mike and to creating a training scholarship at Dog Boy's Dog Ranch. This scholarship will be available to local rescue groups who might need a little extra training for one of their dogs in order to ensure a successful adoption.

Come out for the great music and the great prizes! Local organizations will also be on hand to address the topic of dog aggression."
