Because we're in Texas

Saturday evening I spent at my friends Dave and Shannon's house trying not to melt on the deck while they made us all delicious food. The bad thing about cooking out in Austin in the summertime is that if you're ME and you have an alcoholic drink in your hand you have to be careful or else you will get knee-walking hammered within about two hours because you're downing liquids so fast. Which is why you'll see me drinking vinho verde with ice-cubes in it. Also, only in Austin will your host meticulously make Wisconsin-style beer brats (braised in beer, then grilled) only to have everyone shove it into a tortilla. Mustard, yes. Hoagie bread, no.
