Dirt-like, Dirt-esque, Dirtish: A Brief Review

When I was five, I used to play "chef" with my best friend Amy. Our specialty was mudcakes. And we didn't make your normal every day mudcakes, either. We used cookie cutters to mold our mudcakes into little heart shapes. I don't mean to brag, but we never tried to fool anyone by mixing in pebbles and saying they were "chocolate chips." We added "special" ingredients like vienna sausage and pickles to camouflage the dirt taste. You know, just in case we ever got anyone to actually EAT one.

I bring this up because I can only guess that this line of thinking is what went on the Kashi Corporate Kitchen when they made their TLC Cookies. I imagine it went a little like this:

"Wow, Bob, these whole grain oatmeal cookies with added sesame, zero trans fats and no hydrogenated oils taste just like DIRT.... But maybe we should add dark chocolate chips. You know, in case we ever get anyone to actually EAT one."

Perhaps you need to try these with some Tuscan Whole Milk.
