Hey yall, I need your help with something: If you were going to put together a list of very DANCEABLE songs, what would you include? No boundaries on decade or type of artist. I mean, I know what I would include, but I'm not exactly the most, um, rhythmic person you'll ever meet.. let's just say the video below hit a little close to home..as in: the bird is probably a little more coordinated than me. (ouch). Together with Sam who sometimes dances like a salmon swimming upstream, we do not have high hopes for the Hop. Anyway, back to the dancey song stuff--any suggestions? Beuller?

Some of my all-time faves...

Wild Cherry - "Play That Funky Music"

George Clinton - "Stop Light" and "Atomic Dog"

Justin Timberlake - "Sexy Back"

As far as whole CD's....can't go wrong with Jock Jams Vols. 1 & 2
(get 'em here: http://www.amazon.com/ESPN-Presents-Jock-Jams-1/dp/B000000HKM)

Oh, there are so many others...

Still thinkin'....still thinkin'...

B-52's - "Rock Lobster" and "Love Shack"

Dee-Lite - "Groove is in the Heart"

Ricky Martin - "Livin' La Vida Loca"

(And of course, when I said George Clinton "Stoplight" in my earlier post, I meant "Flashlight". Duh.)

Clash - "Rock the Casbah"

Prince - what's not to dance to? Almost all of his stuff is good.

Right Said Fred - "I'm Too Sexy"

Chaka Kahn - "I Feel For You"

Dead or Alive - "Spin Me Around"

Salt-N-Pepa - "Push It"

Sir Mix-A-Lot - "Baby Got Back" (my personal theme song, lol)

As for other songs...sigh - too many to list, really.
