halloweenie wrapup

Annnnnd we're back! After five fun and mucus-filled days in Arkansas. The bad news is: Both the Hop and I were sick for the entire vacation. The good news is: snot for everyone! It's a Treat! ugh.

Actually, the good news is, we got to spend lots of time with family and friends and Hopper only spent about 30 minutes screaming about the costume. Here he is right after I put it on him:

My expression here reads: "I am totally able to ignore your extreme unhappiness because my ears have been stopped up since Thursday. Scream on, my cherub."
If I say so myself, I think our costumes turned out pretty well. Mine was pretty much fabric paint, felt stars and a pack of battery powered mini Christmas lights, but I was pretty proud of Sam's. I used dryer vent pipe and soda liter bottles spray painted silver for his jetpack.
Still, Hop was less than pleased about the hood aspect of his costume.

We let him run around for a bit with it off and he finally came around. Especially once he saw all the older chicks cooing at him.

I think they were especially impressed with his ability to carry around his candy pumpkin in his mouf while yelling BAAAAIIIIII.

All in all we got him to wear that thing for almost two hours. Just long enough to snap some pix and go Trick or Treating at approximately five houses before the novelty of carrying 35lbs of squirmy alient wore off.

Still, we managed to score enough goodies to keep us in Skittles for the whole flight home, so: Success!

coming up later: a series of photos of family and friends posing with my enormous tummy.
