Wet Your Gizzards
Because we love you and because there may have already been a run on your neighborhood grocery's stock of PBR,(if the South Austin HEB is any indication) Here are some better beer recommendations for Turkey Pairing from the guys at East End Wines (otherwise known as my husband and that other guy who's leg Mr. Bean tries to hump almost every Friday night, Matt). Nice Beer Pairings for Thanksgiving –
FOR TRADITIONAL TURKEY:
Amber ales – North Coast Red Seal, Saint Arnold Amber
Oktoberfest – Real Ale Octoberfest, Saint Arnold Octoberfest
Brown Ale – Tilburg’s Dutch, Sam Smith’s
Golden Ale – North Coast Pranqster, Urthel Hibernus Quentum, St. Bernardus Watou, Chimay Cinq Cents
FOR SMOKED TURKEY:
Hoppy - McChouffe
Porter – Fuller’s London Porter, Rogue Mocha Porter
FOR HAM:
Weizen – Sierra Nevada Kellerweis, Paulaner, Franziskaner, Weihenstephaner
Dubbel – Ayinger Celebrator
Dark lager – Pinkus Jubilate, Session Black
TO ENJOY WITH SOME PUMPKIN PIE:
North Coast Old Stock, Avery Old Jubilation Ale or Avery Samael’s Oak Aged Ale
Tomorrow: vinos that go good with gravy!

I'm about to spend Thanksgiving in a house where I'm the only one who drinks and I am very sad. But I'll keep these in mind for when I get back.
