Frosty--the Hovland Version

Look, I'm about 8 years pregnant. I'm a little tired. I can't be expected to remember things like ALL THE LYRICS. So when you're trying to introduce a toddler to one of the all-time classic Christmas Songs, you better be able to adlib. Because you can't just repeat bumpetybumpbump over and over again, no matter how funny they think it is.

Frosty the Snowman--Thursday Night Edition

Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul,
With a stinky pipe and a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal.
Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale, they say,
He was made of snow but the children
Know how he came to life one day.
There must have been some magic in that
Old silk hat they found.
For when they placed it on his head
He began to dance around.
(I’m pretty sure all that this is where I start to go awry).
Frosty the snowman
got all fancy on his feet
And the children say
He could bump and sway
He rocked a party in the street.
Look at Frosty Go!
Shake it, Frosty Whoa!
(it really helps the whole "feel" of the song if you can drop it like it's hot here)
Frosty the snowman knew
The sun was hot that day,
So he said, "Let's run and We'll have some fun
Now before I melt away."
Down to the party
with a drinkie in his hand
Running here and there
All around the square
Saying Man I love some Ham (what? It could happen--Everyone loves a good Ham).
He led them down the streets of town
Right to the po-po cop (it’s a cop, right? I KNOW there are policemen somewhere in this story)
And he only paused a moment when
He heard him holler "Stop!"
Frosty the Snowman
Had to run a-way
But he waved goodbye
Saying don’t you cry
It’s too hot here any way
Look at at Frosty Run!
He should stay out of the Sun!

...I probably should just stick with Dominic the Donkey. That one could never go wrong.
