17 and counting

I have really really tried to resist watching "17 Kids and Counting" the TLC show about the Duggar family who have a million jillion kids and believe that God will tell them when they've produced enough little clones to keep the manufacturers of ankle-length denim skirts in the black for time eternal. But I have a weird fascination with watching these people. It's not so much the number of kids because they all look so much alike, it's easy to convince yourself that there's really only 8 or 9 and they might just move really fast. It's more their ultra-conservative religious views which are...I would say almost medieval, but I think medieval times would have been a little fast and loose for the Duggars. You know, I don't want to make fun of them because however differently I may feel about things, you can't help but respect their sincerity if nothing else. But on last night's show, the oldest son got engaged to be married and he was excited because it meant that finally, FINALLY, he could hold his girlfriend's hand. oh and hold hands they did. Kids couldn't stop holding hands. Holding BOTH hands at the same time. Non-stop. Little sluts. Next thing you know, they're going to be HUGGING. And you know where that leads... 18 kids, that's where.

That's so funny because I was so desperate to watch something that I flipped to that program and watched that. The balloon thing cracked me up. I think they just got married too.

I recorded it! Those people fascinate me. I always wonder, when are they gonna stop? And soon: grandchildren!

(haven't watched it yet though)

Okay, this show is SCARY. These people are scaring me. I see they're from Arkansas.

of course they are! if they were ins Texas, there'd be 20 of them and they'd have already tried to secede from the Union or something.
